An Environmental Issue That Is Specialized in Its Effects

Environmental pollution is the introduction of unnatural substances to the eco-system, which cause serious damage to the environment. Pollution can come in the form of air, light, or chemical substances, including noise, light, or heat. The most common pollutants in the environment are carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, sulfur compounds, radon, and pesticides. The main causes of environmental pollution are the transportation of non-natural resources through the air, land, and water. It is considered to be a human interference when a resource is transported or introduced in the environment.

There are two types of environmental pollution control measures that can be implemented at the municipal level, namely solid waste management and persistent organic pollutants management project (POPM). In the solid waste management project, solid wastes are treated and transported to designated landfill sites. The major benefit of this is that the solid wastes are recycled for use in generating energy and construction materials, as well as in the construction of roads, buildings, and other structures. However, this measure has also a lot of drawbacks. It results in pollution of the nearby environment, the proliferation of waste materials, and the contamination of drinking water sources.

Persistent organic pollutants or POPMs as they are also called, are a result of the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution renders manual labour obsolete, and consequently, there is an increased use of machinery in all industrial activities. This leads to an increase in the emission of greenhouse gases and other contaminants into the environment. As a result, an environmental pollution problem arises. This problem can affect the natural environment, as well as the human population.

An important source of environmental pollution is the burning of fossil fuels for energy. This process releases a large amount of carbon dioxide and other gasses into the atmosphere and consequently causes an increase in global temperature. Global warming is considered to be one of the most serious consequences of the continued use of fossil fuels. Global warming can cause sea level rise, glacier retreat, and ultimately disrupt the natural environment of the planet. The increased oceanic temperatures caused by the burning of fossil fuels also leads to the disruption of the Earth’s natural ecology.

Global warming and other types of environmental pollution can have adverse effects on human health, food supply, and the environment. Emissions from factories manufacturing plastic products, pharmaceutical drugs, and other chemicals lead to the contamination of air, land, and water. The adverse effects of this contamination are not only devastating to the environment but also to the human population. A large number of diseases are widespread around the world due to the adverse impact of these drugs.

Other environmental pollution forms are harmful to human health by affecting the human body. These include noise pollution, chemical fumes, and radiation. Studies have shown the adverse impact of exposure to chemical fumes on the human body, including respiratory and reproductive disorders. In fact, exposure to harmful chemicals has been identified as a leading cause of occupational asthma.

One of the most prevalent effects of environmental pollution is the risk factors for various types of cancer. These include lung, bladder, colorectal, and breast cancers. The greater the exposure, the greater the risk for these types of cancers. As well, the increased risk factors for kidney disease is seen among workers whose exposure to toxic materials increases. Some of these risk factors include: exposure to varying concentrations of different chemicals, living in areas with poor air quality, having poor exposure to sunlight, and having increased risk factors for kidney disease.

Overall, the adverse effects of environmental pollution are seen as a major public health issue that could lead to more preventable cases of illness and death. For this reason, it is considered a special issue by both the medical community and the general public. This is a problem that affects us all. To find ways to reduce some of the harmful effects of environmental pollution, as well as to improve our environment for overall health, it is important that everyone learn about the various causes and risk factors for this condition and work to better protect themselves.
